ANNUAL HEALTH EXAMS
Here are "the facts"
Pets age faster than people (5-7 times faster).
Pets, instinctively, hide signs of illness (in nature, sick animals are often killed by other animals).
Pets cannot verbally tell us when "something's not right".
Given these facts, it is obvious that the real challenge for the caring pet owner lies in keeping
their animals healthy. It is easier (and less costly) to maintain health than to try to cure disease.
Dental problems and heart disease are just two of the many problems that can be identified during a
yearly health exam. Simple diagnostic tests are also used by the doctor to help reveal "hidden" disorders (kidney, liver, thyroid disorders to name a few).
Schedule a visit with the doctor and use the opportunity to discuss behavioral problems,
nutritional needs, flea control or any other topics of interest or concern. Any necessary disease preventing vaccinations can be administered at that time.

Now Available
Program medication remains an excellent long-term method of flea control. However, many cats do not like to take it when mixed in the food.
Program is now available (for cats only) as an injection.
This one shot will last 6 months !! Two injections a year is all that it takes to keep an indoor cat, and the house, flea free (for no added cost over the oral medication).
Frontline, the liquid skin "spot-on", remains an excellent treatment for flea control of outdoor pets, especially when tick control is also needed. When used with Program it provides a "one / two" punch that the fleas cannot withstand.
QUESTION: I feed my pet a good quality, brand name food. Do I
need to give additional supplements?

Most all of today's pet foods are complete and
balanced diets.
However, there are needs that your pet may have that make food supplements a good idea.
There are food supplements that help combat skin problems (fish oils), improve thyroid function (sea
kelp), strengthen the joints (glucosamine), and help reduce stiffness (anti-oxidants), etc.
Many doctors also feel that additional vitamins can be beneficial to help combat the weakening effects
that pollution has on our pets.
Our doctors supplement their own dog's diets with many of the above mentioned products.
