NTRODUCTIONS please
We are very proud to announce the addition of two excellent doctors to the staff!

Dr. Karen O'Neill comes to Laguna Hills Animal Hospital with 12 years of experience treating family pets. Most recently she practiced in Irvine, so if she looks familiar, that may be the reason. Dr. O'Neill spends most of her week with her two young children, and loving husband (of 23 years). She will be seeing patients every Saturday.

Dr. Bob Lambert is moving from Santa Barbara and will be seeing patients Wednesday through Saturday. He graduated from UC Davis in 1994. Dr. Lambert's wife is a medical student at UC Irvine so they are looking forward to spending more time together.

We are saying "good-bye" to Dr. Kvarnstrom ("Dr.K"). He is leaving us to pursue other veterinary interests. We wish him well.

Dr. Reichel is still on medical disability but is doing much better than previously. You will still see her with patients Saturday mornings.

Dr. Acton will continue to see patients all day on Fridays and Saturdays. He spends the rest of his time helping with the administrative duties to keep LHAH running smoothly.

Dr. Lipton (our eye specialist) continues to come down from San Francisco twice a month to help patients with delicate eye problems.

Drs. Cruz and Sultzer remain as familiar faces for all of our clients.

On The Radio

Our very own Dr. Cruz is on the radio promoting responsible pet care, dealing with such issues as nutrition, feeding, training, pet safety, first aid, grooming, adopting a pet, and new trends in veterinary care.

QUESTION:
I think that my pet is sensitive to the food that it eats? I feed one of the top brand names but, "could my pet be allergic to the food?"

ANSWER:

from the doctor's desk

Pets can definitely be allergic to their food.  Feeding a "top of the line" food brand will not prevent food allergies. Even if you have always fed the same brand your pet could become allergic to the food. Pets are rarely born with food intolerances, rather they are developed over time.

Signs of a food allergy may include: excessive gas, intermittent diarrhea, vomiting, skin rashes or even just itchy ears

Now there is a specially formulated diet for dogs and cats that will eliminate food allergies.

Z/D is a unique food (dry only), processed so that the basic proteins and carbohydrates can be easily digested in a way that does not cause reactions. It is very tasty and safe for all pets.
