 "Annual Health Exams"
Here are "The Facts"
Pets age faster than people
(5-7 times faster).
Pets, instinctively, hide signs of illness
(in nature, sick animals are often killed by other animals).
Pets cannot verbally tell us when
" something's not right".
Not every pet needs every vaccination
every year. Lifestyle and risk are assessed during the yearly exam.
The real challenge for the caring pet owner lies in keeping their animals healthy. It is easier (and less costly) to maintain health
than to try to cure disease.
Dental problems and heart disease are just two of the many problems that can be identified during a yearly health exam.
Simple diagnostic tests are also used by the doctor to help reveal "hidden" disorders (kidney, liver, thyroid disorders to name a few).
Schedule a visit with the doctor and use the opportunity to discuss behavioral problems, nutritional needs, flea control or any other
topics of interest or concern. Any necessary disease preventing vaccinations can be administered at that time.

QUESTION:
My dog has allergies. I cannot give allergy shots myself and I don't want to have her take a lot of cortisone. Isn't there anything NEW out
there?
ANSWER:
YES, there is a new, thoroughly tested and safe medication called "Atopica". This is the
same medication that people have taken for years to prevent donated organ rejection.
This medication is a pill that is initially given daily, but then reduced to twice weekly to control itchiness and other symptoms of
allergy. This medication will revolutionize how we treat this common medical problem Hopefully, it will be approved for use in cats
