Elizabeth is part of our nursing staff, a Registered Veterinary Technician. 2017 was big year for Elizabeth, she sat her RVT test and gave birth to her son, Logan.  Her four-legged family includes 3 pit bulls who love coming to work with her where they romp at Laguna Hills Animal Hospital’s doggie daycare.

Prior to becoming a member of the LHAH team, Elizabeth worked at Hemopet in Orange County.  It is one of the first canine blood banks in the United States.  She still volunteers at Hemopet which also serves as a greyhound rescue facility.

Logan will learn to love the outdoors with his mom as she spends her leisure time hiking and fishing.

Grace, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Grace, a Madison, New Jersey native, is one of our Registered Veterinary Nurses. With a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature from Montclair State University, she expanded her horizons and began a new journey in veterinary medicine in 2008 and has been with the LHAH family since 2013. After living in Hawaii for a few years, she and her husband decided to call Southern California home. To indulge her husband’s love of surfing they lived in Huntington Beach and then bought their first home in Santa Ana in 2016. With the home purchase, Grace inherited a small flock of resident chickens. Her clan of pets also includes a foster failure house finch named Pepe, chinchillas who have been with her since college and a Catahoula Leopard Dog named Bodhi. Bodhi has distinctive piercing ice blue eyes and a brindle and blue merle coat. When she’s not working on patients at LHAH, you can find her caring for her own animals. The newest addition is her son Vinny, born July 2017. She also enjoys hiking, traveling, painting, black coffee, vegetarian faire and beer tasting. Other than raising her son, her biggest project is renovating her 80 year old home.

Roberta, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Born and raised in Southern California, Roberta’s family was one of the original families in Mission Viejo. At Mission Viejo High School, she enrolled in a course that introduced her to the animal field with a focus on animal medicine. After graduation, she continued to Orange Coast College where she received her AA Degree and Registered Veterinary Technician Degree in 1982. Roberta has worked at various South Orange County animal hospitals as a Registered Veterinary Technician and came Laguna Hills Animal Hospital in 2000.  She has been a valued member of our Customer Service team for over 17 years.

Roberta enjoys wildlife and nature.  You can find her at the beach, gardening, hiking and camping. Travel to Dana Point and you may spy her on her paddle board fishing, looking for whales and other marine life and removing flotsam and jetsam from our ocean. Roberta continues to enjoy living in the area with her husband, where they have raised their three sons.  They have shared their home with various rescued cats and a dog. Currently their one cat, Black Jack, can be found sporting tiny pirate costumes, business suit or dressed up for the holidays.

Antoinette, Certified Veterinary Technician

Antionette is a Certified Veterinary Technician (nurse) who graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology, in Colorado in 2011 with a degree in Animal Science and as a CVT. After graduation she moved back to her home state of California.  She has an extensive background in critical care after working at an Emergency and Specialty Care Center as well as general medicine. She honed her nursing skills, even before becoming a CVT by caring for her dog, Bear. Antionette found Bear in 2005 in a laundry basket on the side of a supermarket with his 2 sisters.  They are only 1 week of age.  Bear was so imprinted on the only mother he ever knew that he follows her around everywhere she goes.

When she is not addressing the medical needs of our animal patients, she is happily sharing her time with her husband who is in the military and her two children, Xavier, 4 and Tobias, 1. She and her husband love to take her kids on adventures like hikes, to amusement parks and local parks.

Rachel, Nursing Assistant

Rachel is definitely a local girl having been born in the nearby city of Lake Forest. She graduated from Whittier College, class of 2017, with a degree in Biology. She is a lover of animals and softball. Rachel played competitively for 16 years, starting with Mission Viejo Girls Softball and hanging up her cleats after being a pitcher at Whittier College. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, the beach, hiking, road trips, Disneyland, and spending quality time with her friends and family. She is a huge Dodger fan. Rachel is also active in her church. Raleigh, her Lab, beagle, husky, mutt mix is an adoptee from a Tijuana, Mexico rescue organization. They love going on adventures together especially when they end up at a dog beach.

Growing up, she knew she had a big heart for animals so it isn’t surprising that she has become one of our veterinary nursing assistants. Rachel plans on applying to veterinary school in the near future.

Kaemi, Nursing Assistant

Kaemi is a Southern California native having been born in Glendale, California.  She has been enjoying life in California ever since.  Kaemi began her career at Laguna Hills Animal Hospital as a volunteer while she was in high school.  She so impressed everyone that she was hired in 2011 as a kennel assistant.  In 2015 she transitioned to our nursing department as a Nurse Assistant. Kaemi recently earned her phlebotomy license and is also a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

When Kaemi is not busy mastering her phlebotomy or nursing skills, she enjoys hiking with friends and her dogs.  You can find her trawling for fish off the coast of Mexico, visiting the beach and sampling the offerings at local breweries.  Kaemi has a bit of wanderlust that she indulges by exploring what is around the next corner on road trips. One of Kaemi’s favorite trips was to Havasu Falls in Supai, Arizona, where she backpacked ten miles to hidden waterfalls in the Grand Canyon. Even though it was a rough six-hour hike, she will tell you it was amazing and would do again.

At home you will find her hanging out with her two dogs., a black Labrador mix, Kona and brown Lab, Riley.

Ariel, Nursing Assistant

Ariel has been part of the kennel/grooming care team since 2015.  Ariel is an early riser, getting to the hospital around 4:45 AM… “just to make sure all of the dogs and cats are well cared for before the hospital opens”. She strives hard to ensure that her department provides the best care possible. When she’s not at work you can find her at Saddleback college where she is completing her prerequisites for admission to veterinary school

Ariel has two pets, Max and Figgy. She has had Max since he was two years old and named him Maxwell Smart because he was not very good at jumping and would always “miss it by this much”. She recently adopted Figgy from LHAH when Fig was six months old. When Ariel brought Figgy home, she would run away from Max but now they chase and cuddle up whenever Ariel isn’t looking.
