Dr. Cheryl Wood
From childhood, I always had a passion for taking care of animals. My fascination with nature and the outdoors coincided with my pursuit of caring for animals. During and after high school, I worked with a veterinarian as an assistant and eventually a technician and receptionist. From there, through the encouragement and mentorship of the veterinarian with whom I worked, I pursued a veterinary career at the University of California, Davis.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Scripps College in Claremont, California. After veterinary school, I completed a rotating internship in Los Angeles at the Animal Specialty Emergency Center. I initially strived to pursue a career or a specialty in surgery, but after having rotated through several specialties, I decided that general practice was right for me as it gave me the opportunity to relate and interact with clients, help more people, and help more pets.
I grew up in the Inland Empire and always desired to reside in Orange County, as I felt like this was my true home. I'm happy to serve Laguna Hills and Laguna Woods, and the surrounding areas.
My passion is in veterinary dentistry and soft tissue surgery, but my true joy comes in witnessing and being a part of the human-animal bond, and helping my patients achieve optimal health.
I am currently married to my husband, the love of my life. We enjoy cooking, birding (birdwatching) and hiking together. I also enjoy pilates and baking.
